Adele won’t be playing a theater near you this side of Christmas. But she’s about to share the next best thing.
The British singer’s one-night-only concert last month at Radio City Music Hall was taped by NBC and will air Dec. 14 on the network. NBC has dropped its trailer for the special Adele Live in New York City, which can be seen below.
Adele made her long awaited comeback to the New York stage on Nov. 17, just three days prior to the release of her third album, 25. Tickets to the exclusive show were like golddust, and anyone fortunate enough to be in the room that night will be telling tales for some time yet.
In less than two weeks since its release, 25 has enjoyed one of the most impressive starts of any album in history. The set has broken numerous records in the U.S. (including biggest opening week sales) and in the U.K. (biggest opening week, most downloads in a week, and fastest to a million units sold). Its lead single "Hello" set the record for the most U.S. downloads sold in a week (1.11 million) and its video has streaked past 573 million hits.
The U.S. special follows BBC Worldwide's Adele - Live in London (or Live at the BBC for U.K. viewers), which aired in a raft of international markets last month. The Londoner will hit the road early next year for her first tour in five years. She has announced a string of U.K. and European dates, beginning Feb. 29 at SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
